Job Title: Construction Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team at PAR, a Professional Employment Agency specializing in placements for various industries, including Accounting & Finance, Administrative & Clerical, C-Level & Executive, Human Resources, IT & Technology, Management, Marketing, and Skilled Trades.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately determining project costs for custom home building projects, ensuring budgets are aligned with client expectations. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a strong background in residential construction, particularly luxury and custom homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for custom home projects, including materials, labor, and timeframes.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and proposals to create comprehensive estimates.
  • Collaborate with architects, project managers, and subcontractors to gather pricing information.
  • Review and assess vendor and subcontractor proposals, ensuring competitive pricing and quality.
  • Monitor ongoing projects to track actual costs vs. estimates, making adjustments as needed.
  • Prepare bid packages and participate in the negotiation process with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Conduct site visits as necessary to evaluate conditions and requirements for estimates.
  • Assist in the development and updating of cost databases for materials, labor, and other construction-related expenses.
  • Provide value engineering suggestions to optimize costs while maintaining quality and design integrity.
  • Present estimates and budget breakdowns to clients, ensuring transparency and alignment with their expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience as an Estimator, ideally within the luxury custom home or high-end residential sector.
  • Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, and costs.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in cost analysis.
  • Proficient in estimating software with Buildertrend and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with an ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
