Job Title: Credit Research Analyst

At abrdn plc, we are seeking a highly skilled Credit Research Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our investment team, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth research on fixed income securities and issuers, with a focus on investment grade and high yield corporate issuers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed fundamental research on securities, issuers, industry, competitive landscape, valuation, and ESG risks.
  • Build and maintain financial models with historical and forward-looking projections, utilizing tools such as Excel, Charles River, and Bloomberg.
  • Formulate opinions and investment recommendations using independent judgment.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including Equity colleagues and sell-side research and rating agency analysts, to provide subject matter expertise on specific industrial sectors.
  • Develop and apply in-depth knowledge of investment models and processes to improve performance results.
  • Coordinate and participate in portfolio reviews with Portfolio Managers, assisting in the implementation of investment decisions.
  • Represent the research team in meetings with clients, consultants, and prospects, reviewing the investment process, portfolio positioning, individual positions, performance, and attribution.
  • Monitor and react to changing market conditions, investor sentiment, and industry trends.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field, with CFA/MBA preferred.
  • 2-3 years of investment industry experience as a Credit Analyst.
  • Strong technology skillset, with a focus on Excel and Bloomberg.
  • A passion for investment management, with a strong work ethic, integrity, and a dedication to continuing individual development.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
