Fixed Income Rates Research Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Fixed Income Rates Research Analyst to join our team at MFS Investment Management. As a key member of our Developed Market Strategy Team, you will be responsible for conducting independent research to develop investment recommendations for our fixed income portfolios.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct in-depth research on US and Canadian sovereign and agency debt issuers and currencies to develop investment recommendations.
- Contribute to firm-wide discussions on interest rates and foreign exchange strategy.
- Develop internal models and frameworks to provide perspectives on sovereign and agency bonds and derivatives.
- Work independently to structure, develop, and communicate investment recommendations, assigning ratings to sovereign issuers and their bonds.
- Strong capability to analyze vast quantities of macroeconomic data, particularly concerning monetary policy, inflation, and labor markets.
- Attend conferences and meet with external experts and relevant authorities in issuing countries to gather investment ideas and develop investment themes.
- Act as the in-house expert on UST/Canadian markets.
- PhD or Masters degree in Economics preferred, with CFA certification also preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience, including US sovereign issuer/Fed analysis and ideally currency/inflation strategy.
- Good working knowledge of North American interest rates markets, international financial markets, bonds, interest rate derivatives, and currencies.
- Relevant sovereign debt market experience, including experience with bonds and derivatives, as well as capital structure analysis skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and think critically in formulating and assessing investment recommendations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills for work in a team environment and for interactions with clients.
