This position involves performing custodial duties at various facilities, including office spaces and living units. Responsibilities include cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining a safe environment. You will operate floor maintenance equipment, manage supply inventories, and assist in inspections for cleanliness and necessary repairs. Training other custodial staff may also be part of your duties. You will be responsible for keeping custodial equipment in optimal condition and maintaining the exterior areas of the facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Regular attendance is essential, and you may be required to work specific or rotating shifts, including overtime as needed.
You may also serve on an on-call basis to meet the operational needs of the facility.
Your custodial tasks will include:
- Timely and high-quality cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, and window washing.
- Ensuring proper sanitization and disinfection following established protocols.
- Maintaining cleanliness in restrooms, bedrooms, and common areas.
- Reporting any repair needs and replenishing supplies as necessary.
- Training and mentoring fellow custodians, documenting training sessions.
- Conducting inspections for cleanliness and minor repairs.
- Accurately completing documentation and maintaining inventory records.
- Contributing to a safe environment for residents and staff.
Additional duties may include participating in disaster response and recovery efforts, which may require flexibility in work hours or location.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and sanitation standards.
- Understanding of infection control methods.
- Familiarity with inventory management principles.
- Proficiency in using custodial equipment and handling cleaning chemicals safely.
- Ability to follow instructions and train others effectively.
- Capability to supervise and coordinate the work of peers.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with colleagues and residents.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours as needed.
