About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our production team at Novolex. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining complex machinery, ensuring high-quality production and meeting production goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain lathe machines, ensuring accurate and efficient production
  • Make plate cylinders and gears, adhering to precise dimensions and specifications
  • Repair machine breakdowns and perform routine maintenance tasks
  • Weld and braze various metal components, ensuring strong and durable joints
  • Handle sheet metal work, including making guards and ink pans
  • Assist other Machinists and contribute to a collaborative team environment
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Technical Degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in an industrial maintenance setting; minimum 5 years' experience in a maintenance/production environment
  • Strong understanding of company machinery and ability to set up and run lathes and milling machines safely
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
Working Conditions

This role will be exposed to a factory setting, with potential hazards including lifting, bending, burns, cuts, and flying metal particles. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required, including eye protection, gloves, and safety steel shoes.
