Position Overview:

We are in search of a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our Development Team, embodying our startup culture. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with our Chief Executive Officer and Head of Technology/Project Manager.

A Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist is tasked with ensuring that our software products adhere to established quality standards. The primary responsibilities include identifying and addressing issues related to software functionality, reliability, performance, and security.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conducting Manual and Automated Testing
  • Ensuring Quality Assurance for Requirements and Deliverables
  • Collaborating with Team Members and Documenting the Quality Assurance Process

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Requirement Analysis: Evaluating system specifications to grasp software requirements.
  • Test Planning: Crafting detailed test plans, cases, and scripts for comprehensive software coverage.
  • Testing: Performing various tests (functional, regression, performance, security) to uncover bugs.
  • Defect Tracking: Logging and managing defects, collaborating with development teams for timely resolutions.
  • Automation: Developing and maintaining automated test scripts to enhance testing efficiency.
  • Quality Metrics: Gathering and analyzing quality metrics for insights into software quality.
  • Documentation: Keeping thorough records of test procedures, results, and reports.
  • Collaboration: Engaging with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to align on quality objectives.

Management Responsibilities: Yes

Days Off: 2 per week, with 22 days off per year after one year of service.

Other Requirements: Strong communication skills and a positive attitude are essential. Candidates should be within the specified age range.

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT Engineering, or a related field; a postgraduate degree is advantageous.
  • Certification in Software Quality Assurance (e.g., ISTQB) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Software QA Engineer or in a similar role, ideally within a B2B tech startup.
  • Proficiency in both manual and automated testing methodologies and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a remote work setting.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit).
  • Familiarity with AI Integration.
  • Experience in the Gulf region is a plus.
  • Certification from Aladdin Academy is required within the first month.

Key Skills and Characteristics:

  • Meticulous attention to detail in testing and documentation.
  • Proficient communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
  • Ability to clearly articulate QA issues and concerns.
  • Capability to analyze complex systems and derive effective test strategies.
  • Expertise in using test automation frameworks and project management software, particularly ClickUp.
  • Proficient in Google Apps including Calendar, Docs, Email, Drive, Forms, and Tasks.
  • Proven collaborative skills in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality software through thorough testing practices.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic startup environment.
