Your Role
As a Technical Marketing Engineer at Palo Alto Networks, you will be integral to the development of a world-class product management team. You will provide in-depth technical insights to our partners, customers, and internal teams.
In this position, you will engage with cutting-edge technologies, redefining the landscape of network security. Your responsibilities will include conducting performance evaluations, managing beta tests for new products, consulting with clients on complex implementations, delivering technical training for Systems Engineers, and documenting technical concepts to educate both our workforce and clientele.
You are a proactive individual, eager to explore and experiment with new technologies. You excel in independent work and are adept at identifying potential sales requirements of our clients, influencing the trajectory of our product offerings. You thrive in ambiguous situations, relishing the challenge of defining new products as they emerge in the market.
Your Contributions
- Establish and oversee lab environments and demonstration systems that simulate customer settings and real-world scenarios.
- Assist customers, channel partners, and systems engineers with product-related inquiries and hands-on technical training.
- Create technical documentation including technical notes, publications, solution guides, white papers, and webinars.
- Continuously assess the performance of new releases post-launch.
- Facilitate the success of customer trials by aiding beta customers in understanding and configuring new product features.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management to provide feedback for future enhancements.
- Review Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and engineering specifications, offering constructive feedback.
- Develop and implement comprehensive positioning strategies and address specific inquiries related to the product domain.
Your Qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in delivering technical product training, creating technical materials, and presenting to clients.
- Preferred experience in web security, including URL filtering, DNS security, secure web gateways (SWG), or similar technologies.
- Strong enthusiasm for experimenting with new technologies.
- Experience in setting up lab environments.
- Knowledge in developing and maintaining Proof of Concept (POC) and demonstration environments.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation capabilities and experience in trade shows.
- Self-motivated with excellent project management skills, capable of driving complex projects with meticulous attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
- Strong customer advocacy skills and experience, with the ability to navigate challenging customer situations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.

The compensation for this position will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary plus commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $130,200 and $210,550 annually. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits is available.
