Job Overview:


L3Harris Technologies is in search of a Lead TEMPEST Engineer to enhance our Power Supply/Integrity Signals team within the Communication Systems Segment.

This position necessitates a Secret Clearance due to the classified nature of the work associated with TEMPEST regulations and requirements.

As a Lead Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Acquiring knowledge of NSA guidelines pertaining to TEMPEST for secure equipment.
  2. Assisting the Certified TEMPEST Professional (CTP-II) in revising current testing methodologies to align with updated requirements.
  3. Contributing to various programs and the CTP-II by developing or revising TEMPEST Control Plans, Test Plans, Test Procedures, Test Reports, and Critical Features Lists.
  4. Conducting necessary pre-test setups, including Detection System Sensitivity and calibration measurements prior to testing.
  5. Executing engineering pre-tests and troubleshooting for all programs involving encrypted devices that necessitate TEMPEST evaluations.
  6. Carrying out testing activities to ensure compliance with TEMPEST standards.
  7. Engaging in troubleshooting efforts related to TEMPEST systems and subsystems.
  8. Assisting in the upkeep of the TEMPEST laboratory, ensuring all equipment and testing hardware are calibrated and prepared for program evaluations.

Ideal candidates will possess a solid understanding of electromagnetic theory, including radiated and conducted emissions, signal and power coupling effects, and system susceptibility.

Experience with design techniques aimed at achieving wide-band, high-isolation performance, containment, source suppression, and RF grounding is highly valued.

Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, TEMPEST Receivers, Signal Generators, Test Antennas, and EMI Chambers is essential.


Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with at least 7 years of related experience. Alternatively, candidates with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience without a degree will also be considered.
