Areté is seeking a highly skilled Staff Scientist to join our team in Northridge, CA. As a Staff Scientist, you will be responsible for developing physics-based software and algorithms for data analysis, as well as working on challenging and important projects in the areas of sensor design and analysis, phenomenology exploitation, detection, estimation, and tracking algorithms, and target classification and identification.
Key Responsibilities- Develop physics-based software and algorithms for data analysis
- Work on challenging and important projects in sensor design and analysis, phenomenology exploitation, detection, estimation, and tracking algorithms, and target classification and identification
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in physics-based modeling and simulation
- PhD degree in physics, mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming in Python, MATLAB, C, C++, or similar language
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate on small teams
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance
- Remote sensing experience in Electro-Optics, Synthetic Aperture RADAR (SAR), LIDAR, or sonar
- Experience with signal/image processing (detection, estimation, and tracking)
- Computer vision, image and data fusion, image classification and automated target recognition
- Physics-based modeling and simulation
- Spectroscopy, data fusion, data analytics, or algorithm development
- Competitive salary range: $120,000 to $165,000
