Job Overview

Southern Utilities & Grading, LLC. is seeking an experienced Fine Grading and Construction Laborer to join our team. This role will involve working under the direction of a foreman or superintendent and collaborating with a team of construction professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform manual labor tasks, including shoveling curb, removing inlet protection, and assisting with equipment operation.
  • Work alongside motor graders and operate equipment such as wheel loaders or skid steers to move bulk material.
  • Run necessary equipment to support motor graders, including smooth drum rollers, backhoes, trench rollers, and mini excavators.
  • Utilize the company's core values in daily duties and communicate professionally with colleagues and clients.
  • Understand and interpret goals and directions from supervisors and maintain attendance at work.
Requirements
  • Must be willing to work Monday through Friday, 7AM-5:30PM, or other schedules as assigned.
  • Must be willing to learn and understand site goals and direction.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and teammates.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and background screening.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be 18 years of age or older.
Physical Demands
  • Able to stand, sit, and move around for extended periods, as well as stoop, kneel, walk, bend, crouch, lift, and crawl as required.
  • Able to climb on and off equipment safely and lift, carry, and hold building materials, tools, and supplies.
  • Able to maintain constant alertness and situational awareness while on the job site.
  • Able to perform job responsibilities outdoors in various weather conditions.
