Clinical Residential Therapist

At Lad Lake, our Clinical Residential Therapists play a pivotal role as leaders within the clinical team, ensuring the implementation of effective trauma-informed care practices across all residential programs. In addition to facilitating individual and group therapy sessions, these therapists provide mental health guidance to the entire treatment team, which may involve coaching specific interventions, executing established protocols, and offering general support in best practices.
This position is specifically for our St. Rose girls facility.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The primary responsibility of the Clinical Residential Therapist is to coordinate the multidisciplinary treatment team's efforts in creating and executing a comprehensive treatment plan tailored for each child and their family. This includes delivering individual, family, and group therapy as outlined in the treatment plan, assessing the plan's overall effectiveness, and suggesting modifications as necessary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver ongoing individual, group, and family therapy based on clinical judgment and in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Oversee child management strategies and interventions to ensure alignment with treatment plan objectives.
- Collaborate with the Unit Supervisor to evaluate team dynamics and address any barriers to effective problem-solving.
- Facilitate team meetings as required to evaluate team relations and collaborative problem-solving.
- Maintain detailed records of individual, group, and family therapies to highlight critical issues and guide therapeutic direction.
- Develop initial and 30-day treatment plans, monthly case reports, discharge summaries, and aftercare plans in partnership with the treatment team. Supervise and authorize the use of confinement to ensure compliance with established guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training: A Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a related counseling field with a focus on child, adolescent, and family therapy.
Skills: Proven understanding of typical and atypical child and adolescent development and behavior. A demonstrated ability to engage with children and adolescents, as well as their families, who may be resistant to treatment. Strong capability to guide and direct a multidisciplinary team towards shared treatment objectives.
Experience: Formal academic training, supervision, and practical experience in family therapy, particularly using a brief, strategic intervention model. Experience working with a multidisciplinary treatment team in a hospital, residential, or group home environment.
