Position Overview:
At Danbury Hospital, we are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to deliver exceptional care to our patients.

Role Summary:
Physical Therapists are responsible for assessing, preventing, and treating physical dysfunction or pain. This role encompasses the treatment of both pediatric and adult patients, including the elderly.

Potential Treatment Settings:
- In-patient care
- Out-patient services
- Pediatric therapy

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for patients with intricate diagnoses.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans for complex cases, utilizing specialized interventions and equipment.
  • Educate and train patients and their families on therapy processes.
  • Engage in peer reviews and contribute to performance enhancement initiatives.
  • Ensure documentation adheres to departmental standards.
  • Initiate and manage discharge planning for patients.

Professional Development:
- Participate in 20 hours of continuing education annually, or pursue an advanced Master's program.
- Provide 10 hours of in-service education to staff each year.
  • Offer clinical training to students and deliver community education lectures.
  • Mentor junior staff and new hires.
  • Assist in annual competency training and verification processes.
  • Support patient scheduling and staffing requirements.
  • Provide coverage in the absence of supervisors as needed.
  • Adhere to all compliance responsibilities associated with the role.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy

Qualifications:
Required:
- Experience with patients suffering from neurological conditions.

Minimum Experience:
- Three years in a relevant clinical setting.

Preferred:
- Specialty certification and progress towards an advanced degree.
- Functional Independent Measurement (FIM) certification and CPR certification.

Work Environment:
Manual Skills:
- Significant manual dexterity and coordination required.

Occupational Hazards:
- Notable occupational risks involved.

Physical Demands:
- Very heavy physical effort, with the ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force.

Physical Conditions:
- Some exposure to various environmental factors.
