Position Overview:
As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive services aimed at identifying, preventing, and rehabilitating physical dysfunction or discomfort. Your role will involve evaluating patients and applying therapeutic techniques, including physical and chemical modalities, exercise regimens, and patient education to enhance functional independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough physical therapy assessments, demonstrating precision and expertise in evaluation techniques.
- Develop and implement tailored treatment plans utilizing appropriate interventions and equipment based on your area of specialization.
- Educate patients and their families, providing essential training to support recovery.
- Engage in peer review processes and contribute to performance enhancement initiatives.
- Ensure documentation adheres to departmental standards and guidelines.
- Initiate and manage discharge planning for patients.
- Commit to ongoing professional development by attending a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education annually and delivering two hours of in-service training to colleagues each year.
- Provide mentorship and clinical training to students and less experienced staff.
- Assist in orienting and evaluating support personnel within the department.
- Adhere to all compliance requirements associated with the role.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Educational Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy is required.
Additional Information:
Required: Experience in treating patients with neurological conditions is essential.
Minimum Experience: A Bachelor's degree along with at least one year of relevant experience.
Preferred: Certification in Functional Independent Measurement (FIM) within inpatient rehabilitation settings and CPR certification.
Working Conditions:
Manual Skills: Significant manual dexterity and coordination are necessary.
Occupational Risks: The role involves notable occupational hazards.
Physical Demands: The position requires heavy physical effort, with the ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force.
Environmental Factors: Potential exposure to various environmental elements.
Credentials: Valid Physical Therapist license is required.
