Tank Container Operations Manager

Job Summary

Leschaco Inc is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the position of Fleet Manager for the Tanks Department in our Houston, TX office. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to participate in the continued growth and expansion of a well-respected organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor equipment levels throughout North America and South & Central America to identify imbalances.
  • Report current or upcoming imbalances to Operations Management and Sales Team.
  • Review and update depot inventory reports for North and South Americas.
  • Request periodic test certifications from leasing companies and upload them to the TCS system.
  • Handle equipment positioning between Regions / Depots.
  • Identify qualified partners and negotiate repositioning costs.
  • Select suitable TC equipment and assign them to Export Orders.
  • Coordinate information about equipment status with Export Supervisor and Export Operators.
  • Review SDS for prior product compatibility and provide informed recommendations to Operations & Sales Teams.
  • Constantly follow up with Cleaning/Depot facilities to assure timely availability of Tank Containers for load Appointments.
  • Work closely with Maintenance & Repair Manager to monitor Vendor performance and tank repair status.
  • Update Container Tracking Tool regularly.
  • Run equipment status reports to ensure timely updates by the Operations Team.
  • Check and maintain shipment specific profiles / Equipment Preps / Prior Cargo restrictions.
  • Approve Vendor Invoices related to duties and responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • 1 or more years of experience in ISO tank field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Supply Chain and Logistics.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory and management experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve and manage customer complaints.
  • Ability to multi-task and deal with dynamic problems and variables.
  • Prioritize workload, work independently, be a team player, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advance Excel skills.
  • Strong computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office Products.
  • Bilingual ability in Spanish a plus.
