Job Summary:

This is a 36 hour per week opportunity in our 30-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Boston Children's Hospital. The successful candidate will be a registered nurse with a BSN degree and at least one year of acute care pediatric, ICU or ED experience, with NICU or PICU experience strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The position involves rotating days/nights and every third weekend, with 12 hour shifts. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill neonates and infants, and will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality patient care to critically ill neonates and infants in the NICU
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes
Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients
Monitor and document patient progress, identifying and reporting any changes or concerns
Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and evidence-based care

Requirements:
BSN degree
At least one year of acute care pediatric, ICU or ED experience, with NICU or PICU experience strongly preferred
Current RN licensure in the state of Massachusetts
Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Ability to participate in ongoing education and professional development
