Per Diem Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

The Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a skilled Per Diem Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Your expertise will be invaluable in managing critically ill newborns and collaborating with attending neonatologists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide advanced health assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for critically ill newborns in collaboration with attending neonatologists.
• Develop and implement treatment plans, order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, and treat patients with acute problems following a predetermined protocol.
• Coordinate patient care, including admissions, transfers, and discharges, to ensure promotion of health and wellness through education of patients and families, coordination of services, and placing referrals.
• Participate in professional development and lifelong learning, including participation in resident medical education and training, continuing education, quality improvement initiatives, clinical outcome evaluation and monitoring, and medical and nursing research.
Requirements
• Professional licensure in Massachusetts with authorization to practice as an APRN required.
• Master's degree in nursing and current NP certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is required. NNP experience preferred but will consider new graduates.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, strong organizational and project management skills, ability to set priorities, and ability to maintain competency in procedures necessary to care for neonates.
