Child Behavioral Support Specialist

The primary responsibilities of a Behavioral Health Technician involve promoting the growth of social skills and enhancing the emotional well-being of children, adolescents, and young adults aged 3-21. The objective is to assist the individual in reaching their fullest potential while minimizing the necessity for external placements or alternative educational settings.
Service Delivery: The Behavioral Health Technician will offer tailored services to children diagnosed with psychiatric disorders who exhibit notable social, emotional, developmental, or behavioral challenges. These services will be delivered in a personalized manner, emphasizing the child's strengths and capabilities.
Goals: A key aim of the role is to cultivate skills that enable the child to thrive in social, familial, and community environments. Additionally, the position seeks to foster meaningful connections within the community to enhance resilience and build lasting relationships beneficial to the child.
Intervention Methods: The interventions provided may include therapeutic support, skill-building activities, and various modalities tailored to the child's needs. Services will be conducted in diverse environments, such as home, community, or educational settings.
Collaborative Approach: This role will adopt an eco-systemic perspective, establishing cooperative relationships with families and community resources to support the child and their family effectively. The Behavioral Health Technician will also engage with all relevant individuals to ensure the transfer of skills and strategies to parents or guardians.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in providing behavioral health services.
- Certification as a BCA, BA, RBT, BCAT, or equivalent in behavioral health or behavior analysis.
- Bachelor's Degree or 48 credit hours towards a Bachelor's in Psychology, Education, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with children with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges.
- Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting children with disabilities.
- Reliable transportation is essential.
