Schools Social Services Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Social Worker to join ProCare Therapy in Willimantic. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young learners and creating a nurturing and inclusive school environment.
Job OverviewThis full-time position requires 5 days a week, 35 hours per week, with a start date as soon as possible and ending in June 2025.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the emotional, social, and psychological well-being of our students.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide Direct Support: Offer individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution services to students.
- Conduct Assessments: Identify students' needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work with teachers and parents to address behavioral, emotional, and social issues affecting students' academic performance.
- Liaise with External Agencies: Connect students and families with necessary resources and support.
- Develop Preventive Programs: Promote positive mental health, social skills, and resilience among students.
Requirements:
- A Master's degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited institution.
- A valid state license/certification as a School Social Worker (if required by the state).
- Previous experience working as a School Social Worker or in a similar capacity preferred.
- Knowledge of child development, counseling techniques, and evidence-based interventions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
- An ability to work with diverse populations and understand the unique needs of students from various backgrounds.
- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations pertaining to child welfare and education.
Our estimated salary range for this position is $60,000-$80,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
