Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect nursing care to meet the physiological, psychosocial, and emotional needs of inmates, including adults and geriatrics.
  • Utilize effective communication skills to demonstrate respect, concern, and courtesy in all interpersonal relationships.
  • Use current knowledge to promote a safe environment for providing healthcare to inmates.
Requirements
  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Valid Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) or its equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a correctional setting.
Working Conditions

As a first responder, you must have the physical capacity to perform CPR for at least 10 minutes. You will be required to lift and carry upstairs an emergency treatment bag that can weigh up to 45 pounds and assist in lifting and rotating patients who are unable to ambulate (up to 50 pounds).
