Job Title: Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team on a per diem basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team of healthcare professionals and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Job Summary

The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for evaluating and rehabilitating patients of all ages with communication and oral-pharyngeal disorders. This will involve developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, providing education and support to patients and their families, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients with communication and oral-pharyngeal disorders to identify areas of need and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement treatment plans using a variety of techniques and modalities, including speech therapy, swallowing therapy, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote independence and self-advocacy.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, to ensure comprehensive care and coordinate treatment plans.
  • Document patient progress and outcomes in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university.
  • Current license to practice speech-language pathology in the state of Texas.
  • Current certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • One year of experience in speech-language pathology, preferably in an acute care setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
