The Insurance Verification Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely verification of patient insurance benefits. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits using various verification tools and resources.
  • Document all ascertained information into the registration system to ensure accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Obtain and verify necessary referrals, authorizations, or pre-certifications prior to services being provided.
  • Estimate self-pay portions after benefits have been determined, including deductibles, co-pays, and non-covered services.
  • Maintain regular communication and follow-up with patients, families, and KKI programs/departments to ensure seamless coordination of care.
  • Collect and update demographic information from patients and families to ensure accurate and complete patient records.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required; Associates degree desirable.
  • 1 year of related experience with insurance benefit verification in a healthcare setting required; 2-3 years EPIC experience preferred.
