We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Digestive Health Support Assistant to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our patient care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care and services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide physical assistance to nursing staff with patient care and transport patients throughout the hospital as needed.
- Perform cleaning tasks and responsibilities to ensure the sanitary condition of the Endoscopy unit, including setting up cleaning equipment and readiness for use, using the 7-step cleaning and decontamination techniques, and securing all trash and linen bags.
- Provide essential errand services for the Endoscopy unit, including transporting bodies to the Morgue, obtaining blood products from the Blood Bank, and transporting specimens to laboratories.
- Maintain competency in areas of responsibility and participate in Unit activities that promote a cohesive team.
- High school graduate or educational equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of related experience preferably in the areas of customer relations, inventory management, patient care, maintenance, and/or biohazardous waste removal, decontamination/disinfecting, and/or previous EA experience.
- Current CPR certification or eligible for completing a CPR course preferred.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to patient safety and quality care. The ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and perform tasks of physical endurance and dexterity is required.
