Overview
The Clinical Decision Unit is a 20-bed, single-room unit located on the first floor of the Kelemen building. As a locked unit, access requires a badge or a call to the doorbell. The Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) provides observation and short-term care for patients, with the option to admit them as inpatients until a floor bed becomes available.
Multidisciplinary Rounds
We conduct daily multidisciplinary rounds, Monday through Friday, which involve the patient and their care team. This collaborative approach ensures the best possible care and facilitates a smooth transition to home or other facilities.
Express Admit Unit
The Express Admit Unit (EXAU) is managed by the CDU and provides 6-bed areas for admitted patients waiting for a floor bed to become available. This setup offers patients privacy and care while they wait.
Telemetry Services
Both the CDU and EXAU offer telemetry services for cardiac monitoring.
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients and supervises their care using the nursing process. Key responsibilities include:
- Following established policies and procedures
- Communicating effectively with internal customers and supervisors
- Providing excellent customer service and interacting with all levels of staff, management, and physicians
- Applying Cooper core values
- Performing other duties as required
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Hold a graduate degree from an NLN-accredited School of Nursing
- Be a current NJ-RN License holder
- Hold a current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers)
- Meet any additional certification requirements for specific specialties
