The Equipment Maintenance Technician II will utilize independent judgment and mechanical skills to perform repairs and maintenance on rental machinery at the designated Pacific Ag Rentals branch.

This role will continue to receive guidance to ensure exceptional service to both external and internal clients (i.e.–Service Manager, Shop Supervisor, Invoicing Supervisor, etc.) through the prompt and precise repair of machinery, including the communication of any missing, broken, or damaged components on outgoing or incoming equipment.

Reports to Shop Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other responsibilities may be assigned.

OPERATIONS:
Conducts physical inspections and completes equipment evaluation forms for machinery returned from rental.

Identifies necessary repair parts and efficiently fixes various rental equipment, including but not limited to tractors, agricultural water pumps, large electrical generators, light towers, etc.

Assists in maintaining the shop, warehouse, and vehicles, performs deliveries and pick-ups, and works in the field service area to maintain equipment at customer sites.
Ensures that in-house labor and replacement costs are documented and entered into the work order system for accurate invoicing.
Repairs are billed at 50% of book time.

CUSTOMER SERVICE:
Monitors equipment repair timelines in the shop.
Proactively seeks out missing, broken, or damaged equipment to help reduce operational costs.
Communicates effectively with supervisors and fellow technicians regarding shop inquiries or needs in both written and verbal formats in a clear, professional, and efficient manner.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

Comfortable and willing to operate equipment such as forklifts, large tractors, water trucks, RTVs, jacks, etc.

Ability to perform basic electrical diagnostics and hydraulic repairs.
Capable of repairing body panels, hoods, and lights.
Able to change tires and conduct oil changes on machinery.
Responsible for basic Wash Rack duties, including washing equipment and using cleaning chemicals to eliminate all dirt traces on rental machinery.Interior cleaning, including inside windows of tractors and other equipment with operator stations (RTVs, water trucks, etc.).
Establishes and maintains effective communication channels with management, co-workers, vendors, and all other business contacts.
Conducts oneself in a manner that positively reflects on Pacific Ag Rentals and encourages others to do the same.

Maintains a valid driver's license and a good driving record (if authorized to drive by HR Manager).
Must be eligible for company insurance coverage.
Performs all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
At least 2 years of experience in a similar work environment with a proven track record of successful repairs, effective decision-making, and excellent interpersonal skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Ability to respond to basic inquiries and present information effectively to customers, co-workers, and management verbally and in writing.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:
Good reading skills to consult equipment manuals.
Ability to read wiring diagrams.
Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

ENVIRONMENT:
Work time is divided between the office, shop, and yard in various weather conditions.
Regular time is spent in the shop.
Noise levels in the work environment are usually moderate.
