Role Overview - Credit Specialist:

The Credit Specialist is responsible for managing customer accounts in relation to collections, ensuring timely payments, setting up customer profiles, conducting credit assessments, reconciling accounts, and preparing summary billing. This role also involves generating monthly reports, such as aging reports, risk assessments, and cash application progress for the Credit Manager's review.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain regular communication with all accounts in the assigned credit portfolio regarding outstanding balances.
  • Document all customer interactions in the credit and collections system, ensuring detailed notes on collection efforts.
  • Process invoices, track balances due, and retrieve supporting documentation from customer websites across various brands.
  • Provide customers or end users with invoice copies and necessary supporting documents.
  • Review credit hold reports multiple times daily to make prompt decisions on shipment releases.
  • Analyze financial reports, including comprehensive financial packages and business credit reports, to adjust credit limits and assess financial risk.
  • Document risks for the Credit Manager and provide weekly updates.
  • Facilitate customer payments through various platforms, including ACH pull, ACH check, and multiple credit card processors.
  • Prepare month-end reports for the Credit Manager's review on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Respond to incoming customer inquiries and provide requested documentation.

Qualifications for Success:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable and Business-to-Business Collections, preferably in a billing environment.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel.
  • Experience with credit card processing and familiarity with credit codes is advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficient in account reconciliation.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure.
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • A collaborative team player.
