Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team at Heritage Medical Associates. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing overall support in the Business Office for the Digestive Disease Endoscopy Center (DDEC) and Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operative Coding: Reads, interprets, and understands operative notes and other medical reports, assigns the appropriate CPT code for each case, and queries physicians as needed.
  • Charge Posting: Applies charges to patient accounts accurately and in a timely manner for both professional and facility services, and encounters tracking for all appointments.
  • Claims Processing: Processes electronic bill submission/remits and ensures accurate payment from the insurance company.
  • Receipt Entry: Maintains and understands the accounts receivable status of all billing accounts for DDEC, posts third-party payer and patient payments, and works credit balances.
  • Insurance Analyst: Ensures accurate payment from the insurance company, works AR and investigates rejections on EOB, and submits appeals and corrected claims.
  • Patient Accounts: Processes patient statements and collection letters, contacts patients to discuss delinquent accounts, and sets up reasonable payment plans.
