Community Residential Support Specialist

Position Overview

Salary: $18/hr
Schedule: Sunday through Thursday, 2:30 PM - 10:30 PM (Total: 40 hrs/week)

Overview:
This role involves providing essential support within a licensed community residential facility dedicated to individuals with intellectual disabilities or behavioral health needs. The position requires collaboration with the Program Manager to ensure a nurturing and therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities may vary based on the specific program, including but not limited to:

  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive living space for residents.
  • Encouraging and assisting individuals in developing essential daily living skills.
  • Supporting residents in managing their physical health and personal hygiene.
  • Administering medications as required.
  • Facilitating and engaging in recreational and leisure activities.
  • Coaching individuals using approved techniques and strategies.
  • Contributing to the overall operations of the community residential setting.
  • Adhering to agency policies and procedures.
  • Participating in ongoing communication regarding individual program planning and implementation.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Age requirement: 18 years or older (21 years or older for Personal Care Homes).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Medication Certification.
  • Possession of a valid U.S. Driver's License and eligibility for company insurance.

Job Requirements:
Candidates should possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with individuals and assist with personal care tasks.
  • Proficiency in CPR-AED/First Aid techniques.
  • Capability to lift and carry items up to 25 lbs.
  • Professional demeanor and commitment to completing training programs and attending required meetings.
  • Flexibility to work unconventional schedules, as services are provided 24/7.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining annual training requirements for the position.
