Trauma Program Director

Key Responsibilities- Supervise daily activities of trauma program, including planning and implementation of clinical protocols and practice management guidelines.
- Monitor care of patients in the hospital and serve as a clinical resource to staff.
- Supervise and direct ongoing patient tracking, abstracting, and data entry of trauma service patients into the trauma registry.
- Develop and monitor department budget, staffing, and operational aspects of the program.
- Prepare ongoing statistical and financial reports.
- Serve as an internal resource for staff in all departments to promote high-quality multi-disciplinary trauma care.
- Assist with the development and involvement of the trauma program in trauma research activities.
- Develop, coordinate, and manage educational projects that will enhance HealthONE EMS and Swedish Medical Center Trauma Services.
- Represent the Swedish Medical Center Trauma Service at national, state, and local trauma meetings.
- Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate nursing licensure.
- TNCC and/or ATCN instructor status desired.
- ATLS Coordinator status preferred.
- BSN or Bachelors Degree in related field required; Masters Degree preferred.
- Five years Emergency Department or Critical Care nursing required.
- Prior experience as a Trauma Coordinator or equivalent position required.
- Experience in Quality Assurance desired.
- Experience in developing and teaching education programs desired.
