The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Technologist I to join our team in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. As a key member of our invasive procedure team, you will assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease.
Key Responsibilities- Perform scrub duties and related procedures for cardiac interventions, left heart catheterization, and right and left heart catheterization with minimal assistance.
- Assist in preparation of the room with fellow staff members for safe and effective patient care.
- Monitor procedure and document inventory used and order of events appropriately in MacLab event log.
- Maintain ECG setup and rhythm monitoring, as well as basic hemodynamic setup and waveform monitoring.
- Transport patients alone or accompanied by a fellow staff member.
- RCIS, RCES, CEPS, or RT(R)CI certification required within the first 2 years of hire and must be maintained.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within three (3) months of hire and thereafter maintained.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology or related field.
- 0-6 months of work experience in a related field.
The Cardiovascular Technologist I will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent exposure to radiation. The ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required is essential.
