Job Title: Histopathology Technician

Aspire Medical Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Histopathology Technician to join our dynamic laboratory team at the VA Illiana Healthcare System (Danville VAMC). In this critical role, you will play a vital part in aiding physicians with disease diagnosis and treatment by performing various histopathological procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and process tissue specimens for analysis
  • Perform routine and specialized histopathological staining techniques
  • Ensure high standards of laboratory practices are adhered to at all times
  • Collaborate with clinics and providers to resolve specimen-related issues
  • Participate in quality control procedures and maintain accurate records
  • Develop partnerships with local funeral homes and monitor compliance with onsite morgue regulations
  • Responsible for record management and organization in the Histology department
Requirements:
  • Certificate/Associate's degree in Histotechnology or a related field
  • Histopathology Technician (HT) certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent certification
  • At least 1 year of experience in histopathology or related laboratory settings
