Position Overview:
Praxis Endocrinology Services Northwest is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Healthcare Assistants who excel in interpersonal interactions to become part of our dedicated team. In this position, you will collaborate with the healthcare team to support physicians/providers in delivering exceptional patient care. A strong desire to learn and a genuine passion for helping others are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consistently attends work punctually.
- Maintains effective relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and patients.
- Rooms patients efficiently, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction while facilitating timely patient visits.
- Communicates effectively with the care team to ensure smooth patient care processes.
- Accurately captures and documents vital signs (Blood pressure, temperature, weight, height, O2 saturation, pulse).
- Reviews and verifies medications and allergies with patients, ensuring accuracy in documentation.
- Performs intake functions and captures the patient's chief complaint in the electronic health records (EHR) system.
- Provides necessary informational forms to patients as part of the chart preparation process.
- Assists with patient discharge by providing after-visit summaries.
- Completes room turnover processes, including cleaning and restocking.
- Stocks examination rooms and alerts supply personnel when inventory is low.
- Completes daily tasks and phone calls as directed by supervisors.
- Under supervision, performs EKGs, injections, and vaccinations.
- Completes additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
Medical Assisting diploma from an accredited vocational institution or community college program preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of one year of recent experience in a medical setting as a Medical Assistant, Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Caregiver, or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) preferred. Experience with EKGs, vital signs, venipuncture, and administering injections is advantageous.
Additional Requirements:
Must possess current BLS certification or obtain it within 30 days of hire. Current health records with appropriate immunizations for healthcare work (Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis) are required.

Work Environment:
This role involves a combination of medical office and examination/procedure room settings. The position may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues, and employees are offered the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis-B vaccination series.
