The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is tasked with ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of our educational facilities, fostering a hygienic and welcoming environment for all occupants.

This role involves taking responsibility for various buildings or designated areas, which may encompass: administrative offices, student housing, sports complexes, and lecture halls.


  • Maintain and sanitize restrooms and shower facilities.
  • Clean and preserve interior surfaces of buildings, including wood, glass, carpets, tiles, and more.
  • Care for window coverings.
  • Collect and dispose of waste, refuse, and recyclables from assigned buildings and surrounding areas.
  • Replace burnt-out light bulbs.
  • Report maintenance issues requiring attention.
  • Set up spaces for college events and student functions.
  • Manage snow and ice removal for building access.
  • Keep an inventory of cleaning supplies for the facility.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on cleaning equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work autonomously while effectively collaborating within a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capacity to operate independently without direct supervision.
  • Commitment to adhering to all safety protocols.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • Preferred: One year of experience in facilities maintenance within institutional or commercial settings.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
