Role Summary

The Environmental Services Worker is responsible for the thorough cleaning and upkeep of designated areas within the hospital, adhering to all regulatory standards and departmental protocols to ensure a hygienic healthcare setting.


Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively cleans and sanitizes occupied patient rooms using appropriate disinfectants and cleaning methods to support optimal patient care.
  • Maintains cleanliness in unoccupied patient rooms with the use of germicidal agents, contributing to the overall efficiency of patient services.
  • Conducts terminal cleaning of discharged patient rooms, following established procedures to prepare for incoming patients.
  • Handles cleaning and disinfection of isolation precaution rooms as per specified guidelines.
  • Ensures all departmental equipment and supplies are maintained in a clean and safe condition to comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Fosters a safe working environment by strictly following hospital and departmental policies.

Qualifications
Education:
Ability to comprehend and execute both verbal and written instructions. Post-training, must demonstrate proficiency in the use of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and tools.

Experience:
No prior experience required; however, familiarity with healthcare facility cleaning practices is advantageous.

License:
N/A.
