Position Overview

The Environmental Services Worker plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the hospital environment. This position is essential in ensuring that all areas of the facility are kept to the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation.


Key Responsibilities
  • Thoroughly cleans and sanitizes occupied patient rooms using appropriate disinfectants and cleaning methods to support effective patient care.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing unoccupied patient rooms to prepare for incoming patients.
  • Conducts terminal cleaning of discharged patient rooms following established protocols to ensure readiness for new admissions.
  • Maintains cleanliness in isolation precaution rooms, adhering to prescribed cleaning standards.
  • Ensures that all departmental equipment and supplies are kept in a clean and safe condition to comply with regulatory standards.
  • Fosters a safe and efficient working environment by following hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

Exhibits respect and dignity towards all patients, family members, visitors, and hospital staff, aligning with the core values of the organization.


Qualifications
Education:

Must be able to follow both oral and written instructions. After training, the individual should demonstrate the correct use of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and tools.


Experience:

No prior experience is required, although familiarity with healthcare facility cleaning practices is preferred.


License:

Not applicable.


Work Type:

Per Diem


Work Schedule:

Evening shifts from 3 PM to 11 PM, including weekends and holidays as needed.


Physical Requirements:
  • Significant manual dexterity and coordination.
  • Some occupational hazards may be present.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force.
  • Potential exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and biological waste.
