Job Summary

The Environmental Services Worker is responsible for the thorough cleaning and upkeep of all designated areas within the hospital. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with health regulations and maintaining a sanitary atmosphere for patients, staff, and visitors.


Key Responsibilities
  • Perform cleaning and sanitization of occupied patient rooms using appropriate disinfectants and cleaning methods to support effective patient care.
  • Conduct cleaning of unoccupied patient rooms with germicidal solutions to prepare for incoming patients.
  • Execute terminal cleaning of discharged patient rooms in accordance with established protocols to ensure readiness for new admissions.
  • Maintain cleanliness in isolation precaution rooms, adhering to specified disinfectant guidelines.
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are maintained in a safe and hygienic condition to meet regulatory standards.
  • Foster a safe working environment by following hospital policies and departmental procedures.

Qualifications
Education:

Ability to comprehend and follow both verbal and written instructions. After training, must demonstrate proficiency in the use of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and tools.


Experience:

No prior experience required; however, familiarity with healthcare facility cleaning practices is advantageous.


License:

Not applicable.

Requires very heavy physical effort, with the ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force.
