Become a Lifesaver with the U.S. Army

As a Combat Medic Specialist, you'll play a vital role in providing emergency medical care to Soldiers in both combat and humanitarian situations. You'll be on the front lines, responding to emergencies and triaging illnesses and injuries to save lives. Your expertise will also extend to training fellow Soldiers in essential lifesaver/first responder techniques.

General Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in serving with the U.S. Army.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien.
  • Maintain excellent physical health and fitness.
  • Possess good moral character and no felony-level offenses.
  • Meet the required height/weight standards.
  • Have no major medical procedures that would preclude military service.
  • Adhere to Army tattoo regulations (no visible tattoos on hands, neck, or face).
Training and Development:

Your journey as a Combat Medic Specialist will begin with rigorous training:

  • 10 weeks of Basic Training
  • 16 weeks of Advanced Individual Training
