General Overview:

The role involves providing comprehensive project management assistance to Project Managers through effective communication, negotiation, scheduling, tracking, document management, and cost forecasting. Collaborate with company superintendents, foremen, engineers, detailers, and management to ensure the successful delivery of quality and profitable projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the bidding process and acquisition of new projects.
  2. Estimate and negotiate modifications to contracts.
  3. Monitor, forecast, and report on labor hours and material expenses.
  4. Oversee the procurement of major equipment and subcontractors.
  5. Facilitate and track the delivery of significant equipment and materials.
  6. Maintain a thorough understanding of project contracts and specifications.
  7. Ensure document control aligns with UMC Standards and contractual obligations.
  8. Work closely with field supervision to organize and schedule project activities, including the preparation of integrated project schedules.
  9. Review contract and detail drawings as well as specifications.
  10. Prepare fabrication work packages, including drawing reviews, material take-offs, and budgeting for man-hours.
  11. Ensure adherence to UMC Safety Program at the job site.
  12. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain strong client relationships.
  2. Enhance and retain knowledge of mechanical systems, including engineering, estimating, construction practices, and financial management.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in estimating mechanical work accurately.
  • Ability to lead and cultivate a positive work environment.
  • Understanding and communication of basic mechanical concepts.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to prevent significant financial losses.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Results-driven work ethic.
  • Capability to manage multiple job responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project, Access, and AutoCAD.

Supervisory Role: None

Education and Experience:

A degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering is preferred.

Licensing Requirements:

Must maintain a valid Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record.
