Position Overview:

The Department of Biomedical & Nutritional Sciences (BNS) at the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UML) is in search of an innovative leader to take on the role of Chair. This position requires collaboration with the College's dean to shape the strategic vision for the department's growth in interdisciplinary education, advanced research, and partnerships with the community and industry.

Departmental Background:

BNS is a diverse department offering undergraduate programs in applied biomedical sciences, nutritional science, and pharmaceutical sciences, including accredited programs in Medical Laboratory Sciences and Dietetics. The department also provides graduate degrees in applied biomedical sciences and pharmaceutical sciences, alongside participation in an interdisciplinary master's program in public health.

Faculty and Research:

Currently, the BNS department comprises 22 full-time faculty and 5 staff members, all dedicated to providing exceptional education through innovative health sciences curricula, hands-on laboratory experiences, and research mentorship. The department's research spans various fields, including biomedical sciences, nutritional biochemistry, and pharmaceutical sciences, with numerous opportunities for collaboration across the college and university.
