Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various security systems, ensuring seamless operation and contributing to the safety and security of Salem Health's facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and commission new security system setups, adhering to Salem Health's standards and protocols.
  • Monitor and maintain security system devices, ensuring accurate reporting and identifying potential issues.
  • Collaborate with the Technician Lead to reinforce training for apprentice technicians and support the development of technical skills.
Core Functions
  • Intermediate System Oversight
    • Support the commissioning of new setups while adhering to Salem Health's standards.
    • Assist in adapting information systems based on user needs and feedback.
  • Hands-On System Management
    • Play an active role in maintaining and monitoring systems like Totguard infant abduction system, Milestone camera surveillance system, Lenel access control system, and Genetec LPR system.
    • Provide support during software upgrades and roll-outs.
  • Technical Proficiency
    • Handle installation, troubleshooting, and servicing of essential components like door access readers and surveillance cameras.
    • Assist with communication wiring tasks, ensuring efficiency and organization.
  • Record-Keeping
    • Assist in maintaining logs of activities.
    • Update device data as and when required.
    • Record keeping of Preventative Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance.
    • Process request for security systems. Capable of redacting case reports to protect PHI.
  • Emergency Handling
    • Support the Technician Lead in responding to emergency system alerts.
    • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders in case of emergencies.

Background and Expertise
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years in security system inspection and servicing.
  • Experience in healthcare settings is desirable.
  • LEA electrician license required.
  • Lenel Certification is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license compliant with Salem Health's Fleet Safety Program policy; 2-years Driving History.
  • DPSST unarmed certification or ability to secure within three (3) months from date of hire.
  • Ability to work semi-independently and adapt to varied situations.
  • Good knowledge of healthcare facility systems and security devices.
  • Familiarity with standard methodologies and tools for security systems.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work cohesively within a team.
  • Technical training or certifications in security systems preferred.
