Job Summary

The Maintenance Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and availability of production equipment at WestRock. This position is responsible for coordinating the use of personnel, materials, and machine downtime to maintain equipment performance and availability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initial screening of incoming work orders and scope identification
  • Preparation of job packages for craftsmen with detailed information
  • Preview, audit, and review of repairs under work order process
  • Ensuring appropriate documentation is completed at job completion
  • Planning and scheduling of unit outages using Microsoft Project
  • Leading the organization and review of outage work into one integrated schedule
  • Ordering specific parts and materials needed for planned repair work
  • Developing scope of work, solicitation of bids, contract, and coordination of work
  • Operating within the Smurfit Westrock planning systems with a mindset of continuous improvement
  • Management of equipment bill of materials in CMMS
  • Management of work order backlog
  • Interface with all operating departments
  • Support and foster safety and environmental compliance
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED - required, Bachelor’s degree - preferred
  • 5+ years of experience within the Pulp and Paper industry is preferred
  • Must have experience with project management, planning, predictive, and preventative maintenance programs
  • JDE, MS Project, Word, Excel experience, preferred
  • Supervisory or management experience, preferred
