Overview:
At Ebenezer-Lake City Care Center TCU LTC, we offer a comprehensive benefits package and competitive wages. We are currently looking for a Recreation Coordinator to enhance the quality of life for our adult residents in our Skilled Nursing Facility. This role is essential in facilitating engaging leisure and social events that promote the physical, social, and mental well-being of our residents. The position also involves driving the company van/bus for resident outings.

Schedule:
  • 64 hours over two weeks
  • Day shift
  • Every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) and vacation rotations

Lake City Care Center operates under the Mayo Clinic Health System, managed by Ebenezer. Our facility is home to as many as 90 residents, providing a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.

Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate leisure programs and activities
  • Lead social events and recreational programs
  • Coordinate with various departments regarding activity schedules
  • Transport residents to programs and activities
  • Assist with special events and family gatherings
  • Document participation and feedback as required
  • Propose enhancements to the events program to the Director of Active Living
  • Support residents in meeting their psychosocial needs and encourage participation
  • Report any changes in residents' mood, attitude, or physical condition to appropriate staff
  • Promote independence by offering choices and fostering self-help skills
  • Assist residents in building relationships and socializing effectively
  • Support virtual visits and pet visits as recommended by Active Living Coordinators
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding documentation and participation
  • Maintain transportation logs and ensure the safety of passengers during outings
  • Follow all traffic laws and report any incidents immediately
  • Respond to emergencies in accordance with building policies
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Required:
  • 0-1 years of relevant experience
  • Valid Driver's License in good standing
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft applications

Preferred:
  • Associate Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, or a related field
