Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the educational and research mission of our institution.
Key Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians and veterinary students with medical procedures, including surgeries, anesthesia, and patient care.
- Collect and prepare tissue, cellular, and microbiological samples for laboratory testing.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, including radiology and imaging procedures.
- Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
- Provide exceptional patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and providing emotional support to patients and their owners.
- Associate's degree or higher in a veterinary-related field or equivalent experience.
- Current certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with veterinarians, students, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
