Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Visitation Coach to join our team at Youth and Family Alternatives, Inc. As a Visitation Coach, you will play a critical role in facilitating safe and healthy interactions between non-residential parents/guardians and their children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Observe and document parent-child interactions to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
  • Facilitate visits and intervene when necessary to prevent harm or ensure compliance with court orders.
  • Maintain open communication with attorneys, courts, and other stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Ensure visiting rooms are clean and safe for families.
  • Orient families to the visitation center and explain procedures before the first visit.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to organizational policies.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with families and stakeholders.
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate family schedules.
  • Set clear boundaries with clients and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills to build trust with families and stakeholders.
  • Accurately observe and report on parent-child interactions, intervening when necessary to ensure safety.
  • Handle emergencies and life-threatening situations effectively and efficiently.
  • Manage stressful situations and maintain a calm demeanor in high-pressure situations.
  • Possess basic computer skills to complete essential tasks and maintain accurate records.
  • Be aware of the socio-cultural characteristics of the population served and adapt communication styles accordingly.
  • Demonstrate excellent listening skills to effectively understand family needs and concerns.
  • Complete additional tasks and special projects as assigned by supervisors.
  • Authorized to access protected health information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Develop visitation plans and schedules for families to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Assist with data collection, entry, and report generation to track program effectiveness.
  • Attend court hearings and serve as a record custodian for supervised visits.
  • Assist in staff training and skills building for working with at-risk clients.
  • Report incidents and accidents according to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Support special events and projects to enhance center operations and improve services.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to continuously improve services and outcomes.
  • Arrive to work on time and ready to perform duties, adhering to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to EEO compliance and workplace dignity/respect principles at all times.
  • Work cooperatively in team settings to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Take guidance and direction from supervisors to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Follow the core values and mission of the agency to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Requirements:

  • A.A. preferred; experience in human services or childcare preferred.
  • Two years of experience working with children/families.
  • Ability to travel statewide on a regular basis.
  • Ability to bend, lift, and carry 30 pounds.
