Responsibilities- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to strict infection control and safety protocols.
- Transport and process medical instruments and equipment, ensuring timely delivery to various hospital units.
- Collaborate with OR Nursing staff to ensure accurate and complete instrument sets, utilizing effective communication skills.
- Assist clinical staff in locating required instrumentation and completing instrument sets, demonstrating a proactive and supportive attitude.
- Perform cleaning, preparation, and sterilization of instrument sets according to established procedures, ensuring set completion and notifying staff of any additional instrument needs.
- Operate and maintain autoclaves, sonic cleaners, and other equipment, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and hospital policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices in sterile processing.
- 1 year of experience in a sterile processing or related field.
- Strong knowledge of infection control and safety protocols, as well as medical instrument processing procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull equipment and supplies, as well as stand for extended periods.
