The Sterile Processing Technician II is responsible for preparing and distributing medical supplies and equipment to patient care areas and operating rooms. This includes counting and replenishing supplies based on predetermined inventory levels and surgical cases.
Key responsibilities include collecting, decontaminating, repackaging, sterilizing, and storing medical instruments and equipment. The technician will also work in the operating area to ready supplies and instruments for specific surgical procedures and assist in moving and lifting equipment.
In addition, the Sterile Processing Technician II will assist in training newly hired technicians and maintain accurate records for tracking rental equipment.
Educational/Licensing:
Certified Registered Central Services Technician (CRCST) through IAHCSM or other recognized or accredited program or ability to obtain certification within 9 months
Qualifications:
Six months experience in Healthcare Materials Management or Sterile Processing strongly preferred
