Customer Service Representative for Personnel Security

Position Summary:

We are seeking a full-time, experienced Customer Service Personnel Security Specialist to join our team and support our government client. This role presents an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field of Personnel Security.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will assist the Personnel Security Division Service Desk in the evaluation, validation, and certification of the trustworthiness of personnel affiliated with the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and the Department of Defense (DoD) for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). This includes managing cases and adjudications while ensuring due process is followed in a timely and accurate manner.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Proven experience in supporting a Personnel Security Customer Service Desk.
  • Strong customer relations skills, with proficiency in professional communication through various channels.
  • Familiarity with ICD704, EO 12968, and SEAD 3, 6, and 7 regarding reporting requirements and continuous evaluation.
  • Understanding of exception codes, including waivers and deviations.
  • Experience with Scattered Castles, e-QIP, DISS, and OPM Portal; knowledge of SF86/SF86C processes.
  • Experience collaborating with government civilian and military personnel.
  • Ability to determine when a security case is complete and ready for adjudication, coordinating with other officers as necessary.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Must possess a TS/SCI clearance and successfully pass a CI Polygraph.
  • Experience within the DIA is a plus.
  • Certification in PII and Cyber Awareness Challenge from Information Assurance Support Environment is required (valid within 30 days of hire).

Working Conditions:

  • Work is primarily conducted in a climate-controlled office environment.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Physical requirements include stooping, kneeling, bending, and reaching.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds may be required.
  • Ability to walk long distances and navigate stairs without assistance.
  • Noise levels are generally low to moderate.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement:

All employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, with proof of vaccination required upon onboarding. Limited exemptions for medical or religious reasons will be considered.
