Position Overview

Weekly Compensation: $2,322 - $3,216

Department: Associate Travel Program - MRI Tech

Work Schedule: Various shifts available, 40 hours weekly

Facility: Multiple Ascension acute care hospitals

Travel Requirement: Must be willing to travel to various locations exceeding 50 miles from residence

This role is a permanent, full-time opportunity consisting of 8-13 week travel assignments. It is not intended for short-term or temporary contracts. Compensation may vary based on location and specialty.

Key Responsibilities

As an MRI Tech, you will:

  • Utilize a scanner to capture images essential for diagnosing and treating various conditions.
  • Prepare and position patients accurately while selecting appropriate anatomical and technical parameters to generate cross-sectional images.
  • Conduct patient pre-screening, scheduling, and provide education related to the imaging procedure.
  • Input and monitor patient data, transferring images from disk to magnetic media for transparency production, and developing film using an automatic processor.
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Ensure timely submission of high-quality images and documentation to PACS, maintaining image quality and correct patient data.
  • Verify the proper functioning of equipment and report any potential issues or malfunctions to the relevant personnel.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer. Accepted from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • One or more of the following credentials is required:
    • Cardiographic Tech credential from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
    • Nuclear Medical Tech credential from Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in MRI credential from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
    • Medical Sonographer credential from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
    • Technologist specializing in MRI credential from American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of relevant experience, OR an Associate's/Technical degree, OR 4 years of applicable job-specific experience.
