Job Summary
The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) position at University Hospital Newark is responsible for administering anesthesia and anesthesia-related care in four general categories: pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation, anesthesia induction, maintenance, and emergence, post-anesthesia care, and perianesthetic and clinical support functions.
Responsibilities
Administer anesthesia and anesthesia-related care to patients undergoing surgical procedures
Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations and assessments to determine the patient's suitability for anesthesia
Develop and implement anesthesia plans to ensure patient safety and comfort
Collaborate with anesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Education Program with a Master's Degree in a related field
Possess sufficient sensory capacity to observe patients and patient monitors
Effective communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments in uncertain situations
