Job Summary

The Breastfeeding Program Specialist is responsible for providing expert breastfeeding support and education to new mothers and their families. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of breastfeeding mothers to identify areas for improvement and develop personalized plans for support and education.
  • Implement evidence-based practices and interventions to promote successful breastfeeding outcomes.
  • Provide ongoing education and support to breastfeeding mothers, including counseling, phone support, and online resources.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance breastfeeding program effectiveness and patient satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field required; IBCLC certification preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in lactation consulting or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on patient-centered care.

Salary Range

$55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
