Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Execution: Develop and implement menus that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of our residents, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Culinary Operations Management: Supervise and coordinate the activities of the culinary team, including food preparation, presentation, and service.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Monitor and maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation in all culinary areas.
  • Staff Management and Development: Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing culinary team, providing coaching and guidance to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Financial Management: Manage culinary department expenses, including food costs, labor, and supplies, to ensure budgetary compliance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant food safety and sanitation regulations, including those related to COVID-19.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; 1-2 years of experience in food services preparation and 2-3 years of managing staff.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Current ServSafe certification and any local, state, and/or county-required food handling/sanitation licenses and/or certificates.
  • Personal Qualities: Compassion for and desire to work with seniors; excellent communication and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Continuing Education: 2 years of continuing education in culinary arts or related field.
